Remote Proofreader

We are looking for a highly detail-oriented and reliable Proofreader to review and refine written content before publication. The ideal candidate has excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and language skills, along with a strong eye for detail and the ability to maintain consistency across different types of content.

As a Proofreader, you will work closely with writers, editors, and other team members to ensure that all content is accurate, clear, polished, and professionally presented.

Key Responsibilities

• Proofread and edit documents, articles, website content, marketing materials, reports, and other written materials.
• Identify and correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and formatting errors.
• Check content for clarity, consistency, accuracy, and proper style.
• Ensure names, dates, numbers, facts, terminology, and references are presented accurately.
• Follow established editorial guidelines, brand voice, and formatting standards.
• Review revisions and ensure corrections have been properly implemented.
• Provide constructive feedback to writers and editors when necessary.
• Maintain consistency in terminology, capitalization, formatting, and overall presentation.
• Meet assigned deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.
• Handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Requirements

• Excellent command of written English and strong knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Previous proofreading, editing, writing, or related experience is preferred.
• Ability to identify subtle errors and inconsistencies quickly.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working with Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or similar editing tools.
