GENERAL SUMMARY: The Inventory & Receiving Coordinator’s primary focus is to manage the physical inventory of raw materials, components and finished goods through daily cycle counts, quarterly & yearly physical counts, and/or as directed. The position is also responsible for receiving materials from vendors and assisting in material preparation for Assemblers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES/DUTIES:
Inventory
- Maintain accurate inventory of all Raw, Component, and Finished Good products and accountability for inventory accuracy.
- Ensures all Raw, Component and Finished Goods are properly labelled and put away in designated stock areas.
- Perform daily cycle counts for various part classes and enter quantity adjustments into ERP.
- Provide count frequency analysis and variance analysis. Look for root cause issues.
- Manage Kanban process including submitting requisition entries for Kanban items and shop supplies.
- Coordinates with Purchasing to ensure proper levels of inventory are maintained, including minimum on-hand and reorder triggers.
- Continuously improve inventory procedures and reconciliation processes
- Recommend location changes for raw materials and components to support more efficient point-of-use.
Receiving
- Receive incoming raw materials and verify contents match purchase order and packing list items, noting any discrepancy in quantity or quality, and communicating discrepancies to Purchasing and Operations.
- Rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with Management and Purchasing to rectify damages and shortages.
- Record daily deliveries into ERP System the same day received.
- Put away received items to proper inventory location the same day as received.
- Use of hand truck, pallet jack and/or forklift to move goods from receiving areas to stock/work areas.
Kitting
- Timely disposition of in process discrepant materials.
- Assists the Production Supervisor in locating and retrieving both raw and/or subcomponent materials in preparation for Assembly Team Job Travelers (Kitting of jobs).
Perform other job-related duties or other assigned tasks and projects as directed by supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have strong computer skills, including MS Office programs and knowledge of ERP inventory management modules.
- Intermediate Excel skills, preferably including model building, VLOOKUP’s and Pivot Tables
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Must be detail oriented and organized while working under tight deadlines with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, consistently producing high quality work and projecting a positive attitude.
- Recognizes the importance of customer satisfaction through maintaining company quality standards.
- Maintain a safe work environment and compliance with company safety policies.
- Possess a Forklift Driver Certification or the ability to obtain one.
- Ability to read and interpret a tape measure to 1/16” increments.
- Be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
EDUCATION:
- AA Degree or higher from an accredited College (preferred).
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years working in inventory or warehouse management preferred.
- 3 years of experience with an inventory management module in an ERP system (For example, SAP or Oracle. We use Epicor).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; kneel, crouch or crawl; as well as speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and stand.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
